American Financial Solutions is one of the nation’s largest non-profit credit and financial counseling agencies.

The mission of AFS is to empower people to improve the quality of their lives through financial education and counseling.

Our Work
American Financial Solutions helps clients free themselves of the anxiety and stress of credit, debt and financial worries. We offer free financial education and credit counseling services that put clients in control of their financial success. In confidential, one-on-one counseling sessions, our certified credit counselors help clients assess their situation and needs, inform them of options to address their goals and provide ongoing support to see that clients follow their plan. We advise clients on a variety of debt solutions to reduce and repay credit card, medical and other unsecured debt.

For clients who need assistance repaying their unsecured debts, we offer also a Debt Management Plan (DMP). The benefits of the DMP include one monthly payment, reduced or eliminated interest rates, stopping collection calls, and in some cases, bringing past due accounts back to a current status. The DMP can help with unsecured debts, such as credit cards, medical bills, and collection accounts.

Locations
Our agency is headquartered in Bremerton and Seattle, Washington. We are approved to provide credit and financial counseling in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Additonally, we are approved to provide pre-bankruptcy counseling certification and post-bankruptcy debtor education certification in all states except for Alabama. We provide mortgage foreclosure intervention counseling and pre-purchase housing counseling to clients in Washington State.

History
American Financial Solutions was founded in (1999) as a division of the North Seattle Community College Foundation, a non-profit organization.
