What do you do at AFS and how long have you been here:

I’m a credit counselor and have been here since June of 2016.

What do you like most about your job:

I love helping people so that’s the best part! But I’ve also always been really into credit scores and budgeting so it speaks to my inner nerd.

The best financial advice I ever received:

I was always taught to live within my means. If I can’t afford it, I don’t buy it…which means don’t overextend your budget on credit cards! If the money isn’t in my bank account, I don’t spend it.

One piece of advice you’d like to give people:

Comparison is the thief of joy. (Breaking free of that mindset also frees you from trying to “keep up with the Joneses” J )

When I am not at work I like to:

We are renovating our home, so most of my free time with my husband goes to that. But we also like to travel and go to concerts!

A quirky fact about me:

I’ve lived in 8 cities, in 5 states and attended 7 schools in 3 of those states, in my short lifetime ;)
