American Financial Solutions is a non-profit financial education and credit counseling agency that helps clients change their financial lives for the better. Since 1999, American Financial Solutions has worked with thousands of clients across the United States. We are one of the largest non-profit credit counseling and financial education agency in the nation.
We offer a broad spectrum of education and counseling resources to help consumers manage debt, credit and personal finance. In selected states we provide pre-bankruptcy counseling. We provide housing and mortgage foreclosure counseling to residents in Washington State.
Our counselors are certified by the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education. Counselors must complete additional training and education to maintain their certification each year. Our housing counselors are certified by the Federal Bureau of Housing and Urban Development’s NeighborWorks America program to provide foreclosure and pre-purchase housing counseling.
Our non-profit status sets us apart from other credit counseling agencies, in that we are not “in business” to generate profits for stockholders. Most of our services are offered free of charge.

Our Mission
The mission of AFS is to empower people to improve the quality of their lives through financial education and counseling.
American Financial Solutions is a division of the North Seattle Community College Foundation, a non-profit organization. We redirect a portion of our proceeds to a fund that provides student scholarships, faculty grants and other academic programs for North Seattle Community College.
