Counseling Before Bankruptcy
Are you considering bankruptcy? Federal regulators want you to know all your options before filing bankruptcy. As a result, they require all who are considering bankruptcy to receive pre-bankruptcy counseling within six months of filing.
American Financial Solutions is approved* by the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees (EOUST)to issue certificates of credit counseling in compliance with the Bankruptcy Codes of California, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
A confidential, one-on-one pre-bankruptcy credit counseling session takes about an hour. At the end of the counseling session, the counselor will provide you with a certificate confirming your participation and completion of the pre-bankruptcy counseling session. This certificate will enable you to complete the bankruptcy process.
